The Kids Off Broadway Workshop is a wonderful opportunity for students ages 6-18 who enjoying singing, acting or dancing. We sing to and choreograph pieces from various musicals, and students have the option to learn and perform a monologue while receiving dramatic coaching. In the past, we have performed numbers from "High School Musical," "High School Musical 2," "Wicked," "Annie," "The Sound of Music," "Hairspray," "Rent," and much, much more!

 

Experience: No experience is required.

 

Rehearsals: Rehearsals are closed to family/friends - the final performance is a surprise! Students are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing they can easily move in, comfortable shoes (must have rubber soles on our dance floor - jazz shoes are perfect!), and to bring a water bottle. Only 2 absences are permitted, excluding the dress rehearsal, because we learn together as a group!

 

Important dates: The final performance is Tuesday, December 16 at 6pm (call time 530pm). In addition, the Prestige Broadway Kids will perform at the November 16, 2008 fall recitals - they are all afternoon. There is a final dress rehearsal, mandatory attendance, on Sunday, December 14 from 230-4pm. Should additional performance opportunities arise, we will notify parents via email.

 

Spotlight Solo: Each week, one of the students performs a Spotlight Solo for everyone! Bring in a karaoke CD that does not have the lead vocal on it so that we can hear you sing! This is a fun way to share your music and singing with your friends you make at the workshop.

 

Cost: Tuition is $299 for the 15-week workshop, payable with check or credit card (Visa/MC only). This includes the cost of music and materials, with the exception of costumes. We do not purchase specific costumes, but give you a generic list of what the students should wear for each number. Most of the things requested will be in your closet at home, so you should not have additional expenditures for costumes unless you choose to purchase something new on your own.
